Meditation: Psalm 52:7-9

But I am like an olive tree
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.

I will praise you forever for what you have done;
in your name I will hope, for your name is good.
I will praise you in the presence of your saints.

Your Commands Are My Delight

daisies141 Though I am lowly and despised,
I do not forget your precepts.

142 Your righteousness is everlasting
and your law is true.

143 Trouble and distress have come upon me,
but your commands are my delight.

144 Your statutes are forever right;
give me understanding that I may live.

- Psalm 119

What revelation must the Psalmist have in order to tell another Person that the Person’s commands are his delight? How much do you have to love someone to delight in the commands they give you?

dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
(New International Version)

Most of the other translations say something a little different, like:

Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
(New King James Version)

1 Give ear to my words, O LORD,
consider my sighing.

2 Listen to my cry for help,
my King and my God,

in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.

Psalm 4

4 Aug

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.

Answer me when I call to you,
O my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
