This database crash has been a blessing in disguise. I find myself eager to start blogging again, but this time from a different perspective. Though I am a fan of ZenHabits.com, I’m not a zen blogger. Far from it. I’m the kind of guy who likes to share his story.
So let’s give it a shot, shall we? I’ll be me, you be you, and let’s see where we can go from here. I’ll go first.
Hi, my name is Daniel Dessinger. I’m 32 years old. I am a husband, a father, a journaler, a disciple, a conversationalist, a blogger, and a seeker. I am irreparably convinced in the existence and goodness of the immortal God, whom I call Father because I have been grafted into His family by my faith in His Son, Jesus.
I ask lots of questions. No, I mean LOTS. My top challenges are boredom, laziness, lack of focus, and lack of motivation. I have been told about some of the calling on my life, and it seems mysterious and indiscernible enough to keep me from wholeheartedly pursuing it in my own strength.
So here I am. Just like you. Hoping to learn about this marvelous God I serve. Hoping to catch yet another glimpse of His character. Hoping He will come to me, meet with me, and transform my understanding of God from distant to imminently near.
So that’s me, in a nutshell. Who are you?
I’m John Pieter. Pyotr Ivanov is the russian spelling of my name (at least, that’s what i think). I’m now in my 50′s, a husband, father of three, a grand father of 2 lovely grand daughters, and a grandson still on the way. Like you, i’m also learning, eager to serve the Lord. Though still confused at times by issues in life. Just recently I realized that I’m getting older, getting closer to the finish line of the race everyday. I sensed the urge to share with others the need to make every moment of life counts, to redeem the time.
