God Gives Abundance

How backwards does this sound? This statement flies in the face of the socialist ideal. Not intending to be political at all, actually. But the Kingdom does not give out equally to all. And yet this is just, because He is just.

And somehow, I just love the paradox.

I’ve heard Bill Johnson say that there was a grace upon unbelievers in Jesus’ day. He spoke in parables so that only those with a heart open to the Kingdom would perceive at least some of the meaning behind his words. To whom much is given, much is required. And so, they escaped severe accountability for a revelation their hearts weren’t ready or willing to receive.

But to those of us with open, hungry hearts, God gives in abundance.

One Thing I Ask

This is it, Father. I don’t know yet where the perfect job is with the perfect salary and whatnot. I don’t know how to monetize Your Presence. But I want it. I want You.

This declaration is my heart, Father. When I’m asked what is the ONE THING I see myself doing five years from now if money is no object and there are no hindrances… It is THIS.

I want to gaze on Your beauty. I want to be exposed to the beauty of Your face. Your passion. Your affection. Your holiness. Your righteousness. Your goodness. Your wisdom. Your majesty. Your splendor.

I want to seek You while you may be found. I want You to imprint upon me like a solar eclipse, burning your visage into my retinas.

I want the weight and power of your light to transform my eyes, blinding me forever to the dull and drab artificial colored light of this world. I want to be ruined for Your Kingdom, Lord.

I desire to dwell in Your house. I AM Your house. We are one. You are in me. I am in you. Fill me with the experience and knowledge of this truth. This reality.

I’m tired of the artificial. I’m tired of the manmade. Give me REAL. GENUINE. ENCOUNTER. WITH YOUR FACE. YOUR EYES. YOUR MAJESTY.

I am so lovesick, I’m on the verge of despair. Come to me. Fulfill Your vows.

Thoughts Are EVERYTHING

Your entire life’s story will be written based upon what you do and do not understand… by what you believe is possible. You will make a lifetime of choices according to the rules insofar as you understand them. What you don’t know or see clearly will define you. It’s time to press back in.

Imagine a world in which we set aside all the worldly stuff that we’re wasting mental bandwidth on. Imagine replacing that time with bible reading, prayer, meditation, worship. Imagine walking through life focused on what God says about each and every situation, and not even entertaining thoughts of doubt or unbelief.
